Telford Bike Hub – 1-2-1 Learn To Ride Sessions

1 to 1 Sessions
Session length: Up to 60 minutes
Age range: Adults & children aged 4+
Price: £30 per lesson
Additional participants: Up to 2 extra learners may join the same lesson for £10 each (this will be offered during the booking process)

These sessions are suitable for complete beginners aged 4 to 99, including riders who need help rebuilding confidence. They take place outdoors in a safe, traffic free area. Everyone learns at their own pace, so while we usually suggest around three sessions, some may learn faster and others may need more time. Younger children might not manage the full hour, which is completely fine. Sessions are always tailored to the individual, and no one is ever pushed beyond their comfort level.

 What the session includes

  • Setting up and adjusting the bike (this includes lowering the seat and removing pedals where appropriate)
  • Tailored instruction based on the learner’s needs, confidence level and progress
  • Guidance on next steps and recommended practice at the end

Before your session

  • If possible, remove stabilisers and pedals from your own bike before arriving
  • Otherwise, our instructors can do this on the day
  • Please arrive 5–10 minutes early
  • Bring a drink
  • Wear clothing suitable for the weather

Using bikes during the session

We may recommend that learners start on one of our bikes, as they are already set up to make the early stages of learning easier.
However, we always encourage participants to bring their own bike as well, so we can check it fits them properly and make any adjustments if needed.

Once the participant is confidently pedalling, they are welcome to continue on our bike or switch to their own.

Bikes and helmets are available to borrow at no extra cost.
