Foot golf with Horsehay Village Golf Centre

Participants need to wear suitable clothing and footwear for session that are suitable for weather/an outdoor grassy area.

People in wheelchairs/mobility issues welcome if carer able to help them move along the course.

However, please note – this is a grass covered course, so if ground wet might be muddy/slippery.

Dry slope tubing with Telford Snowboard & Ski Centre

  • Audience: adults with learning disabilities (including some with physical disabilities), however, please note that this activity is unsuitable for people in wheelchairs

Instructions:

All participants need their arms and legs covered and gloves must be worn during the activity, plus suitable footwear.

Helmets are recommended and are available from the Hut.

Each participant will be given one of our large Rings/Tubes, they will then take this up a sloped path to the top of our smaller slope (Nursery slope). There is a hand rail on the path for those that need it.

Unfortunately, the staff do not have the ability or equipment to transfer anyone from a wheelchair into a tube for this activity. We do however have wheelchair lifts on both stairs at the centre should anyone that wants to access the area to spectate. 

This session is not exclusive, however a maximum of only 5 additional people will be booked onto it, so the activity will not become overcrowded.

Parents or carers to remain on site at all times.

Participants need to bring a drink/snack if needed.

Indoor bowls, Kurling, archery and seated boxing/fitness with 4All Foundation

Adaptive cycling sessions with Telford Bike Hub

  • Audience: adults with learning disabilities (including some physical disabilities)
  • Maximum number of participants per session: 12
  • Venue: Telford Bike Hub in Telford Town Park
  • Session days: Fridays
  • Session times: 10:30am to 11:30am
  • Frequency: Weekly
  • Total number of sessions: 10

There are a range of adaptive bikes for different abilities, including a wheelchair loader. Standard bikes are also available.

Instructors will be located at the Hub to help set up bikes, but participants should bring the level of support they require from a parent/carer for throughout the session.

A free carer’s bike will be available so carers can ride alongside participants.

Free parking at Dark Lane car park (Blue Badge must be displayed).

Disabled toilet: Visitors Centre and Dark Lane car park.

Closest changing facility: Library (approx. 5-minute walk).

Instructors will assess ability levels and individual needs on the day and allocate each participant to an appropriate bike.

If more than one participant requires the same bike, they will use a rotation system to ensure everyone has an opportunity to take part, while also allowing for rest periods between turns.

Outdoor and adventure activities with the Arthog team

Sessions include indoor Climbing, Abseiling, Bushcraft, Orienteering, Archery, Problem-solving as well as plenty of team building and making friends. The actual activities will vary according to the abilities and needs of the attendees, as well as the weather.

The instructors are all qualified and experienced staff, holding advanced First aid as well as DBS checks.

A parent/carer needs to accompany each participant on their first session and then Arthog will make individual decisions/needs assessments from there as to whether the participant needs to be accompanied from then on. 

However, instructors are unable to provide any intimate care or support with medications, so this will need to be provided by the parent/carer.
