This is an outdoor production, so please dress for the weather!
Quantum Theatre are back with an enchanting new adaptation of two of Beatrix Potter’s best-loved Tales, The Tales of Peter Rabbit and Benjamin Bunny.
Peter and his naughty cousin Benjamin know very well that they are not to go into Mr McGregor’s garden, but they cannot resist and soon they find themselves in all sorts of scrapes, caught In a net, trapped by a snarling cat and face to face with Mr McGregor himself!
How will they ever escape? Can Old Mr Bunny come to the rescue in time? And whatever will Mr McGregor make of all those footprints in the flower beds?
Michael Whitmore’s charming adaptation will have you spellbound so why not grab the kids, a blanket and a picnic and join Peter and Benjamin on their hair-raising adventures – a magical afternoon of fun for all the family.
About Quantum Theatre
One of the longest established outdoor touring companies, Quantum Theatre produces original work and adaptations of the classics into theatres, outdoor venues and schools throughout the UK and Ireland.
All Quantum’s output is written or adapted and produced by the artistic director, Michael Whitmore, who has evolved Quantum’s characteristic style; pacey, humorous theatre accessible to all ages.
Quantum’s summer outdoor season is the backbone of the company’s work and we have toured productions of the Shakespeare favourites ‘Twelfth Night’ , ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ and ‘The Tempest’ as well as new adaptations of ‘Treasure Island’, ‘Great Expectations’, ‘Alice through the
Looking Glass’, ‘The Tales of Peter Rabbit and Benjamin Bunny’, ‘The Reluctant Dragon’ ‘Wind in
the Willows’ and Jemima Puddle Duck’.
All the shows provide a fun, dramatic and magical couple of hours for their audiences, with humour, drama and live music to delight and entertain.
What if it rains?
Most performances go ahead rain or shine! But please note the following:-
If it’s raining at the start time, we’ll forge ahead in the hope that the rain will clear up soon. It will have to be raining very hard indeed (with thunder!) for the start to be delayed.
If conditions become genuinely unsafe, for example if the performance space is flooded or there is a lightning storm, we will stop the show.
Light to heavy-ish rain won’t put us off, but if rain is torrential (and the audience can’t hear the performance) we will stop the show until the rain clears sufficiently for us to continue.
If we can’t go ahead due to the weather, we will transfer your tickets to another performance or refund your ticket money. If we get through most of the performance and then have to stop because of heavy rain, we’ll transfer your tickets to a different performance.
