In the 17th and 18th Centuries England took watercolour painting to the world, in May 2022 the world’s elite watercolour Masters will return to watercolour’s historic home.

After the incredible success of IWM2018 the 2022 exhibition has been greatly expanded and will feature 42 artists from as far afield as China, Uruguay, Australia, Brazil, and the USA, bringing their work together under one roof for fourteen exhilarating days of breath-taking inspiration. Each painting exemplifies the atmosphere, drama and versatility of this alluring medium. Most days there will be a range of practical demonstrations given by the Masters included in your entrance ticket. Some Masters will host workshops bookable separately via the IWM.

A world-wide contest run by IWM has identified twelve future Masters who will also be exhibiting alongside the established artists, making the exhibition a survey of the very best contemporary watercolour painting in the world today.

The internationally renowned artists and experienced tutors include Alvaro Castagnet,  Patricia Guzman, Laurie Goldstein Warren, Pasqualino Fracasso, David Poxon, Patricia Guzman, Joe Dowden, Fabio Cembranelli, Pablo Ruben, Cesc Farre, Eudes Correia, Matthew Bird and a host of other world famous watercolour stars. Lilleshall Hall is set in English Heritage Grade II listed grounds and gardens complete with woodland walks, which will make for a great day out. All facilities including free parking and café are at the venue.
