60 years after first hitting the Broadway stage, TADLOP bring the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic, The Sound of Music, back to ThePlace Telford.
Based on the real life story of the Von Trapp Family Singers, and set in Austria on the eve of the Anschluss in 1938. The Sound of Music follows Maria, a young postulant, who takes a job as governess to a large family. She falls in love with the children, and eventually their widowed father, Captain von Trapp. Under mounting pressure from the growing Nazi regime, Captain Von Trapp, Maria and his children have some difficult decisions ahead of them.
The Sound of Music contains many well known songs such as "Edelweiss", "My Favorite Things", "Climb Ev'ry Mountain", "Do-Re-Mi", and the title song "The Sound of Music".
