Tales from the Trees

Tales from the Trees

Trees are awesome! They enchant us with their mystery and beauty, they provide us with food, fuel and wood, they produce oxygen for us to breathe and they inspire stories, myths and legends…

Meet Craig, the friendly Forest Ranger and resident tree expert. It’s his job to make sure the woods are a peaceful and happy place, but he’s having a tough time of it today! A cheeky squirrel has stolen his Chocolate Covered Nutty Snack Bar™, his niece Little Red has wandered off the path on her way to Granny’s house, the mysterious old Wizard of the Woods is playing tricks again, and there are even rumours of a big bad Wolf in the forest!

Will Craig save the day? Come and find out, and along the way learn how to identify different trees, discover the wonder of photosynthesis, gasp at deadly carnivorous plants, and encounter crazy characters from folklore and fairy tales!

Let Squashbox Theatre be your guide to the tremendous world of trees, from branch to leaf and twig to root, from berry to blossom and bark to fruit!

‘Tales from the Trees’ is a terrific tangle of puppetry, storytelling, live music and comedy, with a theme that embraces natural history, folklore and ecology.

Listen! The trees have tales to tell…

STAY ALERT > CONTROL THE VIRUS > SAVE LIVES

Most performances go ahead rain or shine! But please note the following:-

If it’s raining at the start time, we’ll forge ahead in the hope that the rain will clear up soon. It will have to be raining very hard indeed for the start to be delayed.

If conditions become genuinely unsafe, for example if the performance space is flooded or there is a lightning storm, we will stop the show.

Light to medium rain won’t put us off, but if rain is heavy or torrential (and the audience can’t hear the performance) we will stop the show until the rain clears sufficiently for us to continue.

If we can’t go ahead due to the weather, we will transfer your tickets to another performance or refund your ticket money. If we get through most of the performance and then have to stop because of heavy rain, we’ll transfer your tickets to a different performance.
